Following a review of the Local Property Tax it has been announced in the 2016 Budget that the revaluation date will be postponed until 2019. The current valuation is based on the value of the property in May 2013 and a new valuation date was due to be introduced next month.
The amount payable for LPT will now be frozen until 2019 and this means that homeowners will not be faced with a significant increase in the tax due to the recent increase in property prices particularly in the Dublin market.
